Trump administration announces the elimination of offices

In an effort to streamline operations, the Trump administration has announced plans to dismantle some divisions inside the US Department of State. He added that the government would cut funding for initiatives it deems counterproductive to American interests.

On Tuesday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio made the announcement. He asserts that this method will empower the Department from the very beginning, all the way up to the embassies.

The head of the department promised to streamline operations by consolidating duties that are peculiar to different regions, eliminate unnecessary bureaus, and do away with non-statutory projects that do not support the United States’ fundamental national interests.

He promised that the Department will be strengthened “from the bureaus to the embassies” under this strategy. We will streamline operations by consolidating region-specific activities, eliminating unnecessary offices, and doing away with non-statutory projects that do not support America’s core national interests.
