On Saturday, Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri announced that the hunt for the killers of Thomas Godwin, a beloved PDP stalwart, has made headway. He said the killers will be brought to justice soon because he was certain they would.
Unidentified assassins allegedly hired by political opponents abducted and murdered Thomas Godwin, a prominent figure in the Hong Local Government Area, a few days ago.
On Saturday, Fintiri paid a visit to the Tøl Huba, Alheri Nyako, the paramount ruler of Hong Kong, and the family of the PDP stalwart who was killed.
Justice would be served, the governor said, for the murdered lawmaker. I promise you that it is my duty as the state’s chief security officer to find out who killed this young man.
We have begun the investigation and are beginning to see the clues, I can promise you of that. Fintiri promised that those responsible would be held accountable in due course.
He pleaded with the family and the people to find comfort in God, saying that such killings have no place in a state that is determined to achieve peace at any costs.
In response to recent insurgent attacks in Bangah and Damna, the governor of Hong LGA stated that the state and the Chiefdom will be fully protected thanks to the backing of the Huba Chiefdom and the government’s cooperation with the National Security Adviser’s office.
