According to Liverpool great Jamie Carragher, a fourth club could mount an unexpected title assault in the Premier League next year.
After seeing his old club win last Sunday, interrupting Manchester City’s four-year title winning streak, Carragher made the remarks.
During his speech at the Women’s Football Awards, he predicted that City and Arsenal will return to the competition to challenge Liverpool.
In the market, City will return, and Arsenal will follow suit. However, Newcastle could pull a surprise from that group of players chasing the game.
They may be a top team if they hold on to their top players and add one or two from the bench. They are capable of beating any of those teams, as we seen in the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool.
“They’ve got fantastic home support and, in particular, central midfield and center forward, they have Premier League talent at their fingertips.”
