Arsenal have made an initial offer of €75 million to acquire Viktor Gyökeres, a striker for Sporting CP. The Gunners have placed a high priority on adding a new forward to their roster during the upcoming summer transfer window, and they have narrowed their options down to Gyökeres and Benjamin Šeško of RB Leipzig.
Among European strikers, Gyökeres has been among the best thus far this year. This season, the Swede has been instrumental for Sporting, scoring 52 goals in 49 games.
Mikel Arteta’s team has reportedly offered Gyökeres €75 million in an opening bid, and the 26-year-old and the North London club have already reached an agreement on personal conditions, according to the Portuguese publication Correio da Manhã.
Sporting reportedly wants a higher payment and is looking for competition from other teams to increase the offer. The Portuguese club has a $84.7 million (€100 million) release clause in Gyökeres’s contract.
