Nigerian artist, Temilade Openiyi, widely known as Tems, has shared what profession she might have chosen if she hadn’t entered the music scene.
In a fan interaction on X this Tuesday, Tems revealed that she could have been an accountant or a math teacher instead of a musician. A fan inquired, “If music hadn’t worked out, what do you think you would be doing today?” Tems replied, “I might have been an accountant or a math teacher.”
The Grammy-winning artist has mentioned before that she left her digital marketing job in January 2018 to dedicate herself to her music career.
She debuted her single ‘Mr Rabel’ in July 2018, which gained some popularity in Nigeria. However, she truly gained fame after being featured on Wizkid’s 2020 track ‘Essence’, which reached number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart after the remix with Justin Bieber was released.
