The Imo government has started the recertification process for landed properties throughout the state layouts

The Imo State Government has initiated a recertification process for all landed properties within Government Layouts across the 27 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the State.

A press release from the office of the Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, stated that this action is in line with the directive from the State Governor, Hope Uzodinma.

The Commissioner mentioned that the recertification will start with a re-survey of all landed properties in the layouts under the Owerri Schedule, set to begin on Monday, December 8, 2025.

Emelumba also revealed that accredited land surveyors will be present to gather the necessary data for the recertification, which will result in new Certificates of Occupancy being issued to eligible plot owners.

He urged all allottees and plot owners to fully cooperate with the survey teams to ensure a smooth and successful process, emphasizing that once the exercise is completed, it will provide lasting benefits to property owners in the State.
