The Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, has stated that not less than 43 ships laden with petroleum products, food supplies and other commodities would be arriving the Apapa Port, Lekki Deep Sea Port and Tincan Island Port in Lagos.
The vessels are scheduled to berth at the ports from May 26 to June 6, according to the NPA Daily Shipping Position posted on Tuesday.
The authorities said the eight inbound ships are carrying containers of different categories of goods while the other 35 vessels are due to arrive with cargoes comprising fresh fish, petrol, general cargo, bulk wheat, aviation fuel, diesel and petrol among other goods.
The NPA said 11 ships and tankers also arrived at the three ports and were waiting for berthing authority. The ships carry containers, petrol, bulk fertiliser, petrol, crude oil, diesel, condensate and bulk salt.
It has also come to light that 21 vessels are at present offloading various consignments at the ports, which include bulk urea, containers, petrol, vehicles, bulk sugar, wheat, millet and bulk gypsum.
