One thousand plus petty traders receive empowerment funds from Soludo’s wife

Mrs. Nonye Soludo, who is the governor of Anambra State’s wife, has said that women are the centre of the home.

In addition, 1,085 women from the Dunukofia Local Government Area in the state received financial empowerment to help them grow their enterprises and provide for their families.

Most of the women involved are tiny traders, or Ndi Afia Table, since they conduct their transactions at makeshift tables set up in makeshift booths. The women were given the authority to assist the men in growing their companies.

Speaking to beneficiaries at the Dunukofia Local Government Secretariat, Mrs. Soludo emphasised that women are the backbone of the family and take the worst hit when it comes to household finances.

She explained that the program’s goal is to help participants improve their businesses so that they can provide better for their families.

Even though most of you are just small-scale traders, we have faith in your abilities and believe that you can succeed with the capital we are providing you with today.

The people who supply you with things can also become your friends if you establish a rapport with them; this way, they can give you goods on the condition that you pay them back when you sell them. Being truthful will earn their trust, which will open doors for your business expansion.

Distinguished oil magnate Prince Arthur Eze and Jim Martin Nwabueze, who donated the finances for the empowerment, were reportedly partners in organising the event, according to Mrs. Soludo.

She expressed her gratitude for their humanitarian mindset and the solutions they had provided for low-income households in the LGA to ensure their economic sustainability.

According to her, the Anambra Small Business Agency (ASBA) in the state also offers comparable programs for economic development.

She explained that low-interest loans and grants are available to cooperative groupings of small and medium-sized businesses.

“We strongly encourage you to take advantage of the opportunities presented by ASBA to enhance your businesses as well. The agency is prepared to support any organised cooperative groups that are prepared to apply,” she sternly warned the ladies.
