Sheikh Musa Falaki, the Special Adviser to the Kano State Governor on Tsangaya Education, has accused Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, the former Deputy Governor of Kano, of embezzling N308 million meant for special prayers in all 44 LGAs of the state.
Falaki made the allegation in an interview that was shared by Hikima Radio in Kano that the prayer program was funded by N44 million per month for seven months by all 44 local councils. This was according to the former leadership of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Kano.
Claiming ignorance of the donations being collected in their names, Falaki and Sheikh Ibrahim Sheshi Maihula were expected to arrange the prayers, according to Falaki.
He claimed they were both involved in planning the prayers but that neither of them had gotten any of the money.
Falaki states that “the 44 local government councils contributed N44m every month for seven months to sponsor special prayers,” referring to the assertions made by the former leadership of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Kano.
According to him, they were first notified of the alleged payments when they were asked to participate in an investigation by the PCACC of Kano State.
