In response to Dr. Aslam Aliyu’s secession to the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Zamfara State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has stated that Aliyu was not a properly registered party member in the state.
Aliyu, who was close to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, resigned from the ADC, citing the party’s failure to provide a tangible strategy to tackle the problems facing Nigeria.
Nevertheless, according to a statement released by Abdulhakeem Umar, the State Publicity Secretary of the ADC, Aliyu was not officially registered as a member in Zamfara State and did not possess a legitimate membership card.
Despite her resignation, the party insisted that its leadership, organisational structure, and state-level operations would remain unaffected.
In the statement, it is stated that the ADC is dedicated to collaborating with faithful and properly registered members who are in agreement with its goals and are ready to help the party expand.
Additionally, it was declared that anyone who was not willing to adhere to the party’s principles, goals, and constitution might leave.
It is also our intention to make it plain that anybody else who does not truly believe in the ADC’s principles, Constitution, and goals is free to go their own way.
Our primary goal is to bring together committed individuals to form a political party that is disciplined, cohesive, and guided by principles.
