Promoter Eddie Hearn says boxer Anthony Joshua may retire in 2026

According to boxing promoter Eddie Hearn, Anthony Joshua may retire from fighting in 2019. He conceded that Joshua may only have three fights remaining. Since the British boxer’s 2012 Olympic gold medal victory, Hearn has overseen his professional career.

After a devastating knockout loss to fellow Briton Daniel Dubois nine months ago, the two-time heavyweight champion is still plotting his next move.

His final year in the sport will likely be 2026, according to Matchroom chief Hearn, who made the announcement on the Ariel Helwani Show. In my opinion, it’s likely at least three battles away, but you never know.

“When I give advice to AJ, I ask myself, ‘What else can we do? We’re returning this year and there will be two fights involving Tyson Fury.'”
