The Tandama neighbourhood in Katsina state’s Danja Local Government Area was already on edge when a fight broke out between youngsters and Hisbah Corps personnel, leaving multiple authorities hurt.
Officials from the Hisbah challenged a group of youths over getting haircuts, which is seen as immodest according to Islamic moral standards, according to security expert Zagazola Makama on his X platform.
The incident occurred about 6:10pm on June 13. As the youths attempted to storm the Hisbah office in a show of outrage, the situation swiftly turned violent.
Several of the Hisbah officials were injured and immediately sought medical treatment at the Danja General Hospital. The event is currently under investigation by the Katsina State Police Command.
