Abba Yusuf reorganises vital Kano agencies and names new leaders

Newly appointed senior officials from several important agencies have received the green light from Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

The announcement of the nominations was made public on Friday by Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofo, who serves as the governor’s spokeswoman.

Dr. Bashir Abdu Muzakkar, who currently serves as the head of the Kano State Information and Communication Technologies Development Agency (KASITDA), is one of the candidates picked. Mr. Muzakkar, resident physician.

His nomination comes after a distinguished career as a visionary technocrat, during which he advised the governor on digital and creative economy issues.

Kabiru Saidu Dakata has also taken on a new position; he is now the Director General of KASA, an important agency for city planning and control in Kano State.

In the realm of social development, the Kano State Social Protection Agency (KASPA) has selected Dr. Fatima Abdul Abubakar, better known as Amneef, as its Director General. On matters of enlightenment and social mobilisation, she served as the special adviser to the governor.

Additionally, Engr. Isyaku Umar Kwa’s nomination as Deputy Managing Director of the Kano State Housing Corporation was authorised by Governor Yusuf.

At the same time, the Kano State Scholarship Board’s educational support programs will be headed by Hamisu Musa Gambo Danzaki, who has been appointed Executive Secretary.

As part of his efforts to promote openness and responsibility, Governor Isma’il Nasarawa appointed Barrister Isma’il Nasarawa to the position of Provost of the Anti-Corruption Institute.

Captain Mohd Bello Maigaskiya Gabasawa, a former military officer, is now the head of the Corporate Security Institute, a position in the security industry.

The new appointees have a lot of expertise and are committed to public service, which Governor Yusuf says would be important in making his administration’s goals for Kano a reality.
