As part of continuing efforts to improve governance and service delivery, Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf appointed seven people to important roles across vital government departments on Friday.
In a statement released by the Kano Government House, Sunusi Bature, the Director-General of Media and Publicity, announced the appointments.
As part of the new appointments, Dr. Bashir Muzakkar will head the agency responsible for developing information and communication technologies in Kano State.
Muzakkar served as the Governor’s Special Advisor on the Digital and Creative Economy prior to his appointment.
Dr. Fatima Abubakar was appointed Director-General of the State Social Protection Agency, and Kabiru Dakata was chosen Director-General of the State Advert and Signage Agency. She had before worked as an advisor on social mobilisation and enlightenment.
Others were: Isyaku Umar-Kwa, Deputy Managing Director of the State Housing Corporation; Hamisu Danzaki, Executive Secretary, State Scholarship Board; and Isma’il Nasarawa, Provost, Anti-Corruption Institute. The position of Commandant of the Corporate Security Institute was also filled by Mohammed Gabasawa.
Yusuf has faith in the new appointees’ abilities and dedication to back his administration’s reforms and development plan in important state areas.
