Brazil’s head coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has made it clear that he might leave out Vinicius Jr. and Neymar from his squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup.
In a conversation with Esporte Record, Ancelotti emphasized that both forwards need to be in peak physical condition and consistently performing well.
“There are numerous talented players available, and I must select those who are at their best. It’s not solely about Neymar; Vinicius could also be at risk.
If Vinicius is only at 90%, I will opt for another player who is fully fit, as we are competing at a very high level, particularly in the attacking positions.
“We have a wealth of excellent players in attack.”
Since Ancelotti took over last summer, he has not included Neymar in any of his selections.
As a result, Neymar has missed eight matches for the Selecao since the Italian coach’s appointment.
