Early this morning, 7 May 2025, troops stationed at Izge as part of Operation Hadin Kai were able to resist a terrorist attack. We were able to neutralize scores of militants and capture eight of their combat facilitators.
During the protracted firefight, the courageous soldiers showed great professionalism and determination, according to Captain Reuben Kovangiwa, acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, Headquarters Theatre Command, Operation Hadin Kai. As a result, many terrorists were neutralized and the others fled in chaos.
As they chased after the fleeing militants, the soldiers killed seven more criminals, several of whom were bleeding profusely.
Finds include a PKT automatic machine gun with belts of ammunition, ten bicycles, and a motorbike. Similarly, terrorists were devastated when their attempt at an assault at Mallamfatori was thwarted.
The theater commander praised the soldiers’ valor and tasked them with maintaining their progress toward a terrorist-free zone.
