Real Madrid confirm Toni Kroos’ return

Anfield great Toni Kroos will be back at the Santiago Bernabéu to watch the Los Blancos Legends take on Borussia Dortmund Legends in their upcoming encounter. Kroos formerly played for Real Madrid.

The 12th annual Corazón Classic Match, which pits the two teams against one another, is scheduled for June 7, 2025.

At Wembley Stadium, Real Madrid faced Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League final in 2024, Kroos’s final game for the club. You may remember that Real Madrid came out on top in the match.

Following the game, Kroos announced his retirement from professional football after having played for the German national team in the Euros. On May 25, 2024, in a La Liga encounter against Real Betis, Kroos played in Madrid’s final home game.

Nonetheless, the Santiago Bernabéu will see the 35-year-old take the field again. On Saturday, Kroos confirmed his comeback by writing on Instagram, “Bernabéu, I’ll see you again.”

In addition to Kroos, the legends match will feature three more ex-Real Madrid players: Iker Casillas, Pepe, and Marcelo.
