In Wednesday night’s Turkish Cup final at the Gaziantep Stadium, Galatasaray defeated Trabzonspor 3-0, with goals from Victor Osimhen on both occasions. This was the first major trophy for the Nigerian international while playing for the Red and Yellow.
It wasn’t until the 2018–19 season that Galatasaray last claimed the Turkish Cup. After only five minutes, Baris Yilmaz scored the first goal for Galatasaray.
After receiving the ball from Yunus Akgun, Osimhen extended the lead in the 46th minute. Just three minutes after the hour mark, Akgun also put up the Nigerian international for the third goal. During this season’s Turkish Cup, Osimhen netted four goals and added an assist.
On Sunday, Galatasaray will face Kayserispor at the RAMS Park in an attempt to win the Turkish Super Lig for the third year in a row.
