Plateau Killings: ‘Prove the claims of injustice against Fulani – Group challenges Miyetti Allah

A group known as the Plateau Patriotic Front, PPF, has urged the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, to substantiate their claims that the Fulani people have faced injustice in the state.

This challenge follows a recent statement from MACBAN’s National Secretary, Bello Gotomo, who asserted that the series of attacks and killings attributed to Fulani militias in the state stem from the injustices endured by the Fulani people.

However, in a statement from the National Coordinator of PFF, Mani Imman, the socio-political group has demanded that MACBAN provide undeniable proof that the Fulani people have been denied justice or marginalized.

Imman characterized Gotomo’s allegations as exaggerated and a product of his imagination, as well as a blatant acknowledgment of complicity in the violence that has resulted in thousands of deaths in Plateau’s rural areas.

Imman also urged security agencies to detain and prosecute the MACBAN Secretary regarding the attacks and killings in the state, given that he appears to have knowledge of the perpetrators.

He pointed out that Gotomo’s statements are not only reckless and provocative but also serve as a public confession concerning the assailants.

Furthermore, he emphasized that Gotomo’s comments not only implicate the Fulani militia as the aggressors and murderers of innocent individuals in the state but also clearly indicate that MACBAN is aware of and supports their actions.
