Kwara has assigned cabinet members to tackle issues related to salary and pension delays

The Kwara State Government has organized a special troubleshooting meeting to handle all outstanding complaints concerning the payment of salaries and pensions to civil servants and pensioners, as reported by Naijatrial.

This troubleshooting meeting will take place daily at each of the 16 local government headquarters in the state from Thursday, July 31, to August 4, 2025, excluding Sunday, August 3.

“All individuals affected — both serving civil servants and pensioners — must attend in person with their BVN; NIN; KWSRRA Number; PSN Number; bank account statements; employment letter; work/pension ID card; and any other relevant information to help resolve their complaints,” stated Dr. Hauwa Nuru, the State Commissioner of Finance, in Ilorin on Wednesday.

According to the statement, the session will be facilitated by cabinet members from each local government area along with relevant experts from various MDAs.

Dr. Nuru mentioned that while most civil servants and pensioners do not face issues with their salaries or pensions, “we recognize that there are a few isolated cases of individuals who still have unresolved complaints that hinder the smooth payment of their salaries and pensions.

“This session aims to address all such outstanding issues definitively, in line with Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s commitment that every worker or pensioner is entitled to receive their pay on time,” as noted by the press secretary of the ministry, Babatunde Toyin Abdul Rasheed.
