Nigeria’s D’Tigress and Mali are set to clash for the top honor in the final of the 2025 Women’s AfroBasket in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire today, as reported by Naijatrial.
D’Tigress secured their place in the final by defeating Senegal 75-68 in an exciting semi-final match on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Mali triumphed over South Sudan with a score of 76-50 to reach the final.
As the defending champions, Nigeria aims to make history by becoming the first nation to win five consecutive titles.
Rena Wakama’s team is also on an impressive 28-game winning streak at the Women’s AfroBasket. Mali last won the trophy in 2007 when they beat Senegal in the final.
In the 2021 edition held in Yaounde, Cameroon, they were defeated by Nigeria with a score of 70-59 in the final.
