South-South Elders Forum National Coordinator Anabs Sara-Igbe of Rivers State has spoken out against the current administration of single administrator Ibok-Ete Ibas, calling the involvement both pointless and detrimental to the state’s interests.
While appearing as a guest on Friday’s Politics Today on Channels Television, Sara-Igbe made this fact public.
He claims that there was an initial fault in the reasoning for Ibas’ appointment because there was no crisis in Rivers State that would have warranted such a drastic step.
Because Rivers State was so tranquil before the administrator arrived and remained so tranquil after he departed, I am unsure of the administrator’s role.
If emergency rule were to be instituted, he argued, it should be in Borno, Benue, Plateau, Nasarawa, and other regions across the nation.
Additionally, he claimed that the previous administration had stolen from the state without providing any advantages to the people.
Without making any substantial progress in the state, “someone who is not from Rivers State came in and plundered our resources,” he continued.
Sara-Igbe stated emphatically that this was the sole way forward and responded affirmatively when questioned whether the feuding parties had actually put the past behind them.
The assembly has also met with Sim and they have fixed their issues. The people of Rivers are very delighted because Sim (Fubara) is his boy and they are going to make peace. Sim and Wike have met and resolved their differences.
Peace has returned, and we intend to keep it that way. Because progress can only take place in a peaceful state, he urged Sim to re-establish contact with the assembly, Wike, and anybody else associated with him.
There can be no progress in an unstable environment. Everyone has witnessed what happened, and they’ve taken note: the crisis taught them a thing or two.
