Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers State, has urged the populace to see the lifting of emergency rule as a chance for a new start.
While broadcasting to the entire state from Port Harcourt, the capital, Fubara made the announcement on Friday.
After the governor, his deputy, and members of the State House of Assembly were reinstated and the state of emergency that was established on the state on March 18 was suspended, this occurred.
“Therefore, let us welcome this time as a new beginning. In order to make Rivers State better, more peaceful, and more affluent, let us recommit ourselves to working together with fresh optimism and resolve.
“You have my word that we will never stop trying to make sure that everyone comes along.
While acknowledging the challenges, he emphasised the significant progress made by his administration in areas like as infrastructure, education, healthcare, and other vital areas during the past two years.
