Pep Guardiola, manager of Manchester City, has claimed that Mikel Arteta, of Arsenal, will win the Premier League title just because he spent a lot of money on players.
Guardiola gave a press conference just before his team’s journey to the Emirates this past weekend.
He claims that City is treated more harshly than teams like Arsenal when it comes to their transfer spending.
After spending nearly £900 million since summer 2021, Arsenal spent £300 million last summer on new players. During the same timeframe, that figure just surpasses what the City spent.
The reason Mikel Arteta will win the title will be due to his spending, not his hard work or his players, Guardiola warned his pal.
‘It’s similar to Liverpool. Arne (Slot) will have spent a lot of money if he wins again. Am I correct? The events transpired in more than simply Man City. It is for their benefit.
