On Tuesday, Akinwunmi Fasakin, the Ogun State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), announced that Superintendent Route Command Afolabi Odunsi-Oyewole will take on the role of the new Public Education Officer for the command.
It is important to note that the previous Public Education Officer, Florence Okpe, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, after a long illness.
In a signed statement, the Sector Commander confirmed that Odunsi-Oyewole would be stepping into this position.
The statement mentioned, “The Management of RS2.2 Ogun Sector Command wishes to inform you that Superintendent Route Command Odunsi-Oyewole David has been appointed as the new Sector Public Education Officer for the Command.
Rising concerns over security: Calls for the creation of state police are increasing. He is originally from Lagos State and holds a Master’s degree in Personnel Psychology.
“He has held various roles within FRSC formations and is recognized as a seasoned officer.”
He emphasized the command’s dedication to ensuring the safety of drivers and all road users, encouraging the public to support and assist the newly appointed spokesperson as much as they can.
