“Abaribe opposes the non-kinetic approach, calling it an expressway for criminals to escalate their actions

“Abaribe criticizes the non-kinetic approach as a dangerous path for criminals’ actions to escalate” – Abia South Senator, Enyinnaya Abaribe, has expressed his disapproval of the non-kinetic strategy being used to address the ongoing security issues in Nigeria.

In an interview on ‘Prime Time’, a show aired on Arise Television and observed by Naijatrial on Monday, Abaribe remarked that this non-kinetic approach resembles inviting kidnappers to return and commit even worse acts.

The senator, who represents the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), was responding to the worsening security situation in Nigeria and discussing potential solutions.

“I believe my reaction was spontaneous; I was genuinely upset, what one might call righteous anger.

“This isn’t the first time we’ve heard about a supposed collusion between security forces.

“Local residents often report that they informed the security personnel, only for them to vanish, and then they return right after the bandits have attacked.

“The real question is, how does the government function in this manner? This idea of trying pacification, which they misleadingly term non-kinetic.

“In reality, this is merely compensating someone to allow them to return and potentially commit even more heinous acts.

“Thus, my frustration arises from the fact that the Nigerian army has successfully established peace on an international level; it is difficult to understand how the same army is depicted as powerless,” he stated.
