Dapo Abiodun, the Governor of Ogun State, has approved the recruitment of an additional 1,000 members for the State Security Network Agency, commonly known as the Amotekun Corps.
This was revealed in a statement signed by Corps Commander Brig Gen Alade Adedigba (rtd.), which was made available.
The Corps commander stated that the recruiting is part of an effort to strengthen community-based security operations throughout the state.
the 2026 recruitment exercise follows the Corps’ recruitment of around 1,300 new operatives the previous year.
Adedigba stated that the additional intakes are intended to strengthen the Corps’ operational capabilities across 20 local government areas, notably in rural communities, border corridors, and other critical flashpoints.
He asked candidates to thoroughly review eligibility requirements, paperwork norms, and physical standards before submitting, emphasising that the application window will be open from Thursday, February 26 until Friday, March 13, 2026.
“This recruitment initiative underscores the State Government’s deliberate strategic security vision, which aims to consolidate gains made in crime prevention, rapid response operations, and intelligence-driven policing at the grassroots. It follows the Corps’ recruitment of nearly 1,300 new operatives last year.
“Interested candidates are therefore invited to submit their applications, at no cost, via the official website: ogunstateamotekun.com.ng.
“The application window will be open from Thursday, February 26, to Friday, March 13, 2026, and applicants should carefully consider the eligibility requirements, paperwork norms, and physical standards before submitting.
“After the application process, a complete screening exercise is planned to take place from Monday, March 23 to April 8, 2026. Prospective applicants are advised to prepare thoroughly and adhere to the instructions that will be issued to guarantee a smooth screening process,” said the Corps commander.
Adedigba emphasised that the employment procedure is free, open, and purely merit-based, and warned the public not to fall for scammers or unapproved individuals who demand money in connection with the exercise.
