Nigerian military have strengthened ongoing operations throughout theatres, neutralising terrorists, foiling kidnapping attempts, and retrieving weaponry, cattle, and other things in coordinated offensives during the last 24 hours.
According to operational updates made accessible to journalists, forces from the Joint Task Force North East’s Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) achieved major success in Borno.
According to the report, the 202 Battalion’s troops neutralised two suspected terrorists during an ambush operation on the Aulari-Kawuri axis in Bama Local Government Area.
It claimed that the terrorists were spotted by surveillance cameras approaching towards Yale Forest when forces fought and killed them.
In the North-West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA forces made operational gains in Zamfara and Katsina states, according to reports.
According to the report, troops from the 1 Brigade Quick Response Force neutralised one terrorist during a fighting patrol in Zamfara’s Maru Local Government Area, while recovering seven cell phones.
Similarly, forces from the 17th Brigade responded to terrorist activity in Katsina’s Kankara Local Government Area, recovering two pump-action guns and cartridges.
“In a related operation, troops, working with police and local hunters, repelled terrorists in Malumfashi, forcing them to flee and recovering 19 rustled livestock, which were turned over to local authorities.”
“In Kwara, troops under Operation SAVANNAH SHIELD foiled a kidnap attempt in Patigi Local Government Area, rescuing a victim and arresting two suspected kidnappers, while recovering two single-barrel guns,” it said.
