Finidi George, Rivers United’s technical adviser, has stated that his squad must thoroughly prepare for the next season,
The Pride of Rivers fell short of their title goal previous season, coming second to Rangers International.
The Port Harcourt team began pre-season training on Monday, looking forward to a more prosperous season.
Finidi believes that starting preseason training early will give his team a better opportunity of competing next season.
The former Nigerian international emphasised the importance of integrating new players into the group.
“The early period of pre-season will be focused on building fitness levels, establishing tactical cohesion and integrating our new signings into the squad”, Finidi addressed the club’s journalists.
“With the demands of continental football, we must prepare thoroughly from the outset,” he stated.
Rivers United will play in three competitions next season: the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), the CAF Champions League, and the President Federation Cup.
