Presidency’s foreign trips reportedly cost N37.6 billion in just three years

From June 2023 to April 2026, the presidency reportedly spent N37.64 billion on presidential trips, logistics, foreign exchange, and other travel-related expenses.

This is according to an examination of GovSpend, a civic tech platform developed by BudgIT that simplifies and visualises the Federal Government’s real-time treasury payments and expenditures.

The announcement came as President Bola Tinubu left Abuja for Europe on Sunday for a three-week annual holiday, beginning in London.

President Tinubu’s official travel records show that he has spent approximately 261 days outside Nigeria, visiting at least 30 countries on 51 international trips since May 29, 2023.
