The state administration is concerned about vaccine refusal in certain communities in Adamawa State. Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, the state’s Deputy Governor, voiced official worry on Thursday over a rise in routine vaccination refusal, which she said was due to a lack of accurate information and distrust among the public.
During an event in Yola, the deputy governor stated that the frequent measles outbreaks are mostly caused by low vaccination rates, which are a result of the fact that many citizens who were intended to be vaccinated have rejected the vaccine, even after multiple attempts.
Farauta expressed the concern of all well-meaning individuals with the lack of compliance with vaccination recommendations at the 2025 1st Bi-Annual conference with traditional rulers regarding primary health care issues, which took place at the Banquet Hall, Government House.
She reminded the emirates and chiefdoms that the government is dedicated to more than just assessing the immunization campaign and the increasing illness burden, and she urged them to form effective committees that convene on a regular basis to find solutions to the people’s vaccine reluctance.
