The African Democratic Congress, or ADC, has defended the conduct of its primary elections in Katsina State, saying that the process was free, fair, and transparent, despite charges of manipulation by certain disgruntled contenders.
Alhaji Lawal Batagarawa, the party’s Katsina State Chairman, revealed this in an interview with JBC Hausa, stating it was expected that certain contestants would be disappointed with the results of the primaries.
According to him, every election has victors and losers, and it is not uncommon for unsuccessful candidates to express concerns or make claims after losing.
Batagarawa insisted that the party followed due process throughout the event, refuting allegations that the primaries were rigged.
He stated that the ADC was still dedicated to reconciling aggrieved members and will continue to engage individuals who were unsatisfied with the outcome in the interest of party unity.
“We held the primary elections in Katsina State in a transparent, free, and fair way.
Allegations that the process was manipulated are incorrect, and we will continue to work to reconcile those who are unhappy with the decision,” he stated.
