Envulu-Anza, the newly elected senator for Nasarawa North, receives certificate of return from INEC

After Danladi Halilu Envulu-Anza of the All Progressives Congress (APC) won the recently concluded by-election for the Nasarawa North Senatorial District, the Certificate of Return was delivered to him by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The commission formally named Envulu-Anza winner of the poll conducted in Akwanga, Nasarawa Eggon, and Wamba Local Government Areas of the state on Monday, 22nd June, 2026, the day before the presentation event.

With 45,362 votes, Envulu-Anza defeated his closest opponents, including former Minister of Information Labaran Maku of the Labour Party (LP) with 12,931 votes and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member David Emmanuel Ombugadu with 11,570 votes.

The newly elected senator thanked the voters for their trust and promised to do a good job representing Nasarawa North in the National Assembly in his first remarks after getting the Certificate of Return.

He promised his constituents that he would do all in his power to promote their interests, secure development projects, and make a significant contribution to legislative initiatives that sought to improve the lives of citizens.

The position was formerly held by Senator Godiya Akwashiki, who served the constituency until his death on December 31, 2025, and a bye-election was held to fill the resulting vacancy.

In order to officially take office as the senator for Nasarawa North Senatorial District, Envulu-Anza will need to finish the required legislative procedures, which should be accomplished once he receives the Certificate of Return.
