Five terrorists are killed and 38 family members rescued in Borno by the troops

During a clearance operation in the Geizua area of Borno State, troops of the 21 Special Armoured Brigade, operating under Operation Hadin Kai, were able to neutralize five terrorists and rescue 38 family members of fleeing rebels.

Operation Desert Sanity IV, in which Hybrid Forces and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) are participating, is the current operation’s overarching objective.

The operation zeroed in on terrorist strongholds in Bama Local Government Area, specifically in the Shehutari and Churchur axis.

According to a trustworthy military source who spoke with Zagazola Makma, the operation started at approximately 8 a.m. on May 8, 2025.

Troops advanced from their harbor location and cleared multiple camps, many of which were discovered to be abandoned. Five terrorists were killed as the forces engaged fleeing insurgents in a gunfight during the mission.

In a different incident, the soldiers apprehended 38 people, including 17 adult women and 21 children, who were determined to be insurgent family members. They were apprehended so that additional investigation and profiling could take place.

With this operation’s success, the fight against terrorist networks in the Northeast has reached a new milestone.
