Ibrahim Kashim, former Secretary to the Bauchi State Government, has emerged as the National Democratic Congress’ governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections following a consensus agreement.
Paul Daniel, Chairman of the electoral committee for the Bauchi State governorship primary election, declared Kashim’s candidature on Friday in Bauchi.
Daniel stated that the decision was reached after conversations with party stakeholders and other hopefuls, and that the consensus process demonstrated unity within the party.
“With this development, Ibrahim Kashim has officially become the NDC governorship candidate for Bauchi State ahead of the 2027 elections,” he announced.
Abdullahi Maigari, the party’s Bauchi State Chairman, stated that the NDC was gaining traction throughout the state and referred to the party as one of the few political platforms free of internal problems.
Maigari voiced trust in Kashim’s capacity to address the state’s socioeconomic difficulties, referring to him as an experienced politician.
In his acceptance address, Kashim thanked party leaders, delegates, and supporters for their trust in him.
If elected governor, he promised to implement policies that prioritise education, healthcare, agriculture, youth empowerment, infrastructure, and transparent governance.
Kashim also encouraged citizens and party members to support the party’s vision ahead of the 2027 elections.
