Despite its difficulties, the Peoples Democratic Party is still powerful, cohesive, and unbreakable, according to Mr. Edward Masha, Chairman of the PDP Chairmen’s Forum of the Northern States and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, and Chairman of the Kaduna State branch.
Masha made this claim on Friday during an interview with DITV that was shown in Kaduna by the Nigerian News Agency, or NAN.
He denied rumours that the party was waning or about to disintegrate.
“The most powerful, well-organised, and people-driven political party in Nigeria, and attempts by detractors to cripple the party have failed,” he declared.
“Every attempt to dismantle the PDP has miserably failed. They have strengthened, united, and increased the party’s influence throughout the nation, not weakened us.
“The PDP is too deeply rooted in the Nigerian polity to be erased,” the writer continued, attributing the party’s tenacity to its strong grassroots presence, tested leadership, and dedication to democratic norms.
“Our grassroots structures and our experience in governance make the party impossible to wish away,” he said.
Masha claimed that those who planned the PDP’s demise had only succeeded in irritating themselves because the party was still strong, relevant, and competing across the country.
Along with other party officials, he reiterated his dedication to fortifying the party’s victories and fostering internal cohesion in preparation for upcoming elections.
“Unity, reconciliation, and repositioning the PDP for increased electoral success are our main priorities.
He declared, “The party is ready to use the democratic will of the people to regain its proper position.”
As the party advances, the PDP leader urged supporters and members to stay unwavering, motivated, and unified.
However, he urged Nigerians to continue supporting the PDP’s program for national development and expressed optimism that the party will emerge stronger ahead of the next elections in 2027.
