Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress

has stated that it is confident and unified in its chances of winning the gubernatorial election in August 15, 2026, even though some members of the party have resigned.

The party has insisted that its chances in the upcoming governorship race wont be unaffected by the departure of those members, stating that the party is unified and focused on winning.

The APC characterised the recent resignations of some members as a coordinated effort to create the false impression of instability inside the party, according to a statement released on Sunday by the party’s Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi.

The statement stated that the party is certain that its governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, will continue to campaign unabated despite the departures and that the development will not impact the outcome of the election on August 15.

While political resignations and defections are typical during election seasons, the APC urged its members and supporters across the state to stay faithful.

The state’s political climate is experiencing something that is typical during election seasons, and we would like to reassure our party’s devoted members and supporters of this by saying as much.
