Plateau village in distress over the discovery of a headless female body

The Angwan Durun-Uwa community in Plateau State’s Barkin Ladi Local Government Area was thrown into panic and uncertainty on Thursday when the headless body of a young woman was discovered in a sack at a refuse dump.

Gomex Iliya, a youth leader in the town, over the phone. He claimed some residents who went to dispose of waste at the site discovered the decomposing remains of the beheaded woman, who could not be immediately identified.

“We were woken up by an alarming and shocking discovery of the beheaded body of a woman at a dump site in Angwan Durun-Uwa,” Iliya told us.

“I was phoned by one of my executive members to advise me that a body had been abandoned at the waste site. I dashed down to the waste site, where I also discovered the headless body, which was tied in a bag.

“The body was already rotting, so it could have been dumped days earlier.

“We quickly notified the police, who rushed a team to the area. The corpse was evacuated. We are expecting that the police would launch an inquiry to discover the victim’s identification and find those guilty for the murder,” Iliya said.

Efforts to seek confirmation from the Plateau State Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Alfred Alabo, were useless because he did not return phone calls or text messages at the time of filing this story.
