Benue State Emergency Management Agency (BSEMA) Executive Secretary Sir James Iorpuu has restored a vital security vehicle to bolster monitoring and emergency response efforts in IDP camps across the state. On Wednesday, the ritual took place at the agency’s Makurdi headquarters.
Security personnel responsible for patrolling and protecting SEMA installations and internally displaced persons camps around the state are likely to benefit from the reconditioned vehicle in terms of mobility and response time.
As part of a larger effort to strengthen safety measures and create a more secure environment for displaced families, the agency has launched this project.
According to Sir Iorpuu, the agency is dedicated to safeguarding vulnerable persons and assuring their wellbeing in the face of increasing security concerns across the state.
In addition to providing humanitarian supplies, he said, the organisation has been taking concrete measures to create a safe environment around displacement camps.
