On Thursday, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress governorship primaries in Kwara State, announced that the Kwara governorship primary had been postponed until Friday due to logistical complications.
“The election was postponed as a result of logistical complications.” He stated, “We arrived late, and in order to ensure that all parties were treated fairly and that the election was managed effectively, we required a full day to accomplish this.”
He informed journalists at the party’s secretariat that the committee is prepared and that the election will take place throughout the state on Friday, immediately after meeting with the APC governorship aspirants behind closed doors.
On Thursday evening, a strategic meeting was convened by ten candidates for the governorship.
Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki, Dr. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa, Prof. Wale Sulaiman, Engr Femi Sanni, Dr. Tajudeen Alabi, Aisha Ahmad-Patigi, Mohammed Bio, Musiliat Yetunde Adebowale, Dr. Muideen Salako, and Captain Ahmad Mahmoud were among the attendees.
Obanikoro urged all aspirants to see the victory of any one of them as a collective victory for the party’s success.
“We should regard the victory of one as the victory of all.” The victory of a member of one’s family should not be perceived as a violation of personal interests, provided that the party’s interests are prioritised.
“It is a gathering of family members.” From Lagos state, I am a member of the APC and am present to engage in dialogue with other members of the APC family.
Obanikoro declared, “On this specific day, we convened to discuss the governorship primaries that are scheduled to take place tomorrow. We sat down to engage in a candid conversation with ourselves, acknowledging that we are all members of the same family.”
