Sokoto State Governor, Ahmad Aliyu, has officially sworn in Musa Garba Kuchi as the chairman of Kebbe Local Government Area, following the passing of the elected chairman, Abdullahi Yarima.
Kuchi has been appointed to fulfill the remaining term of the late chairman, who passed away just a few months after being elected.
During the ceremony in Sokoto, the governor encouraged the new council chairman to live in the local government area and collaborate closely with security agencies, highlighting that Kebbe is one of the regions facing security issues.
Governor Aliyu also administered the oath of office to the State Head of Civil Service, Abdulkadir Ahmed Mohamed, along with five Special Advisers and 12 Permanent Secretaries.
He urged the new Head of Service to promote discipline and enhance efficiency within the state civil service, emphasizing the importance of punctuality, dedication, and adherence to work ethics.
The governor called for a transparent working relationship between Special Advisers and Permanent Secretaries, clarifying that while advisers offer political guidance, Permanent Secretaries handle administrative duties within their respective ministries, departments, and agencies.
Aliyu cautioned the appointees to maintain accountability and proper record-keeping, stating that any mismanagement of public resources would not be accepted.
He also encouraged civil servants to stay dedicated to their responsibilities as the government continues to work on salary, pension, and gratuity obligations.
The Special Advisers who were sworn in include Umar Babuga Oro, Faruku Labbo, Zainab Umar Dasuki, Kamaludden Abubakar, and Lemi Bashir.
The newly sworn-in Permanent Secretaries are Isma’ila Ibrahim, Aliyu Ladan Isa, Aminu Bello, Abubakar Alhaji Ni’ima Hassan, Almustafa Sayudi, Aminu Abubakar Rijiya, Lema Sambo Wali, Kabiru Garba, Abubakar Moh’d Bello, Kabiru Labaran, and Sanusi Aliyu Binji.
