The command’s PR, SP Nafiu Habib, announced the announcement in a statement on Tuesday, explaining that the arrests were part of a continuing investigation into a culpable homicide case that was lodged to the Alkaleri Divisional Police Headquarters on March 7, 2026.

Muhammad Umar, better known as “Jijji,” was arrested on June 19 while reportedly riding a motorbike that had been tracked near the body, according to Habib.

The police say that two more suspects, Danladi Yakubu, alias “Pagaj” (35), and Usman M. Gidado (45), both from Gwaram Town, were apprehended when new leads were found thanks to Umar’s arrest.

During the operation, the spokesman said, authorities found a motorbike that was thought to belong to the deceased.
