BudgIT, a civic organization, has claimed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu plans to unveil the 2026 budget of N54.4 trillion to the National Assembly without providing a report on the performance of the 2025 budget.
This information was shared by BudgIT in a statement on X on Thursday.
According to Naijatrial, Tinubu is anticipated to present the 2026 budget to the National Assembly on Friday.
In response, BudgIT pointed out that Tinubu’s administration has not yet released the implementation report for the 2025 budget.
“Keep in mind, there is still no budget implementation report for 2025.
“The 2026 budget is nearly upon us, yet we remain unaware of how the 2025 budget fared?
No report. No accountability,” BudgIT stated on X.
It is worth noting that in February 2025, Tinubu signed the N54.99 trillion 2025 budget into law.
