Troops from the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have neutralised terrorists, detained suspects, and documented the surrender of a terrorist member.
Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, announced in a release that the successful operations were carried out by Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) personnel working together.
According to the statement, OPHK troops fought militants travelling from Yale to the Sambisa Forest axis and neutralised four of them. Troops also discovered one AK-47 gun with ammunition, as well as food items believed to be part of terrorist logistics supplies.
Similarly, several forces launched prolonged offensive operations along vital roads such as Dambboa-Maiduguri, Dambboa-Gwoza, the Goniri axis, and other potential infiltration corridors, thereby denying terrorists freedom of movement and action.
In a similar event, OPHK troops stationed at Kanama apprehended two suspected terrorist accomplices during a stop-and-search operation.
The suspects were found in possession of things and materials, including clothing and personal property, that were thought to be related to terrorist logistics assistance.
Preliminary investigations also discovered damning digital data indicating possible affiliation with terrorist elements, and the suspects are currently in prison pending further investigation.
Also, OPHK forces documented the surrender of one suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP member at a checkpoint in Kukawa Local Government Area.
It stated that the suspect, who claimed to have been abducted earlier this year and coerced into joining the terrorist cell, is currently being profiled and investigated further.
