As part of their continuous attempts to clean up the state civil service, the Bauchi State Civil Service Commission has fired two senior officers for forgery.
The individuals impacted include Yusuf Adamu Ningi, an Administrative Officer, and Mr. Suleiman Ahmed (Ahuta), a Principal Executive Officer I, who were both transferred to Government House from the Office of the Head of Civil Service.
The decision was made during Tuesday’s 35th plenary session of the Commission, according to a statement released on Wednesday by Saleh Umar, the Commission’s information and public relations officer.
The policemen were convicted of forgery, which is a breach of State Public Service Rule 0327 (ii, iii, and vi), according to the statement. They were fired effective September 23, 2025.
Additionally, the Commission approved the promotion of four deputy directors to director level and formally promoted three substantive directors into the State Service.
Two directors from the HR and administrative departments, together with an audit director, were recently confirmed. Board members in charge of planning, statistics, civil litigation, and land and valuation have all been promoted.
The promotion to the position of Deputy Director was also bestowed upon eight Chief State Counsels and one Chief Land Officer, among others.
Dr. Ibrahim Alhaji Muhammad, chairman of the CSC, urged government employees in his address to the plenary to do their jobs in accordance with all applicable circulars, laws, and rules.
He made the point that if everyone followed the rules, it would put an end to corruption in service delivery, boost integrity, and eradicate illegal practices.
Dr. Ibrahim reaffirmed the Commission’s stance of zero tolerance for wrongdoing while extending congratulations to the recently promoted officials. He emphasised the importance of discipline, ethical standards, and integrity throughout the state civil service.
As a reminder, the Commission also fired an education officer on September 11 for sexual harassment and other serious misbehaviour, as recommended by the head of the civil service office.
