Prosecutors in the United Kingdom have dropped all charges of bribery against Diezani Alison-Madueke, the former Nigerian minister of petroleum resources.
Alison-Madueke was found not guilty on all six counts that related to bribery and conspiracy to commit bribery by a jury at London’s Southwark Crown Court on Wednesday, according to Reuters.

She faced accusations of taking bribes from influential persons in Nigeria’s oil and gas business in exchange for lucrative contracts.
Prosecutors claim that she received “a life of luxury” in London in return for her influence on contract awards.
The former minister, however, persistently disputed the charges and said throughout her trial that she had no hand in selecting government contractors or accepting bribes.
The jury deliberated for over 46 hours before finding the defendant not guilty on all six counts.
