Former Manchester United player, Rio Ferdinand, has forecasted that Ghana and Croatia will create hurdles for England in Group L of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Ferdinand, however, expressed confidence in the Three Lions to top the group and also triumph over Panama.
In a conversation with GOAL, the ex-footballer revealed his dissatisfaction with England’s group.
“I was not pleased with England’s group, you know,” Ferdinand remarked.
“You want a group where you think, ‘Listen, we can just sneak through there. Not too many tough matches’. But we have Croatia, the Modric-led Croatia, Ghana, and Panama.
“Now, I believe Panama is a team we should defeat, but Ghana and Croatia, I think, will make it challenging.
“I still support us [England] to win the group and advance, but I would have preferred a slightly easier path in that group.
