Investors and members of the diaspora have been reassured by the government of Abia State that the state is welcoming and safe for them.
Rev. Annie Onu, executive secretary of the Abia State Diaspora Commission, made the promise during a lively gathering with Nzuko Ndi Abia N’ Aberdeen members in Aberdeen, Scotland, UK.
She stressed that Governor Alex Otti’s administration is committed to finding common ground with the state’s diaspora and working together for their benefit.
According to Onu, the state administration has prioritized development in the following areas: security, infrastructure, education, and others.
While asking the diaspora to return to Abia and invest, she informed them that security has improved across the state and that Abia State’s reputation has also improved.
Earlier, Ugochukwu Iheukwumere, chairman of Nzuko Ndi Abia N’ Aberdeen, thanked Governor Otti for enhancing the state’s reputation and reiterated the association’s backing of the government’s initiatives.
