President Bola Tinubu has expressed satisfaction that no state in Nigeria is suffering to pay workers’ salaries as it did before to his office on May 29, 2024.
The president stated this on Friday in Lagos, where he hosted members of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, led by Vice President Kashim Shettima, for a Sallah homage at his Lagos mansion.
He stated:
“Today, I was watching some clips of the Sokoto-Badagry corridor. Consider how many dams could be constructed along that corridor for irrigation, agriculture, and electricity generation. Many of you have survived and inspired our people to believe in this regime.
“You’ve centred that trust on one person: my leadership. Thank you very much. I am sincerely appreciative. I cannot thank Almighty God enough for bringing us together to share our thoughts and developmental initiatives.
“I am relieved that, out of the 27 governors that borrowed from the federal government and asked for interventions, we are no longer struggling to pay salaries. “No more.”
