The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has sent the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 7, Abuja, AIG Victor Olaiya, and a tactical squad to Niger State to assist in the rescue of people kidnaped in recent attacks in Borgu Local Government Area.
Disu revealed this during a visit to the Niger State Police Command, when he met with senior officers at the police headquarters in Minna following the mass kidnapping.
The IGP stated that the rescue mission was not just the responsibility of the police, stressing that the Nigerian Army, intelligence agencies, and other security organisations were all working together to ensure the victims were safely retrieved.
